MINNESOTA INSURANCE CLAIMS PROCESS

Step 1:

CALL LIFETIME BUILDERS FOR A FREE STORM DAMAGE INSPECTION

One of our representatives will inspect your home and verify whether you have hail, or wind damage, or both!

Step 2:

CONTACT YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY TO FILE A HOMEOWNER CLAIM

Inform the insurance company that your home was inspected by a licensed contractor and hail and wind damage was found.

Describe the type of storm damage that occurred – our representative will make clear to you what type of damage to tell the insurance company.

They will also ask you for the date of the storm. If you know the storm date, go ahead and tell them. If not, just give them the “Discovery Date” or the date you found the damage.

Step 3:

INFORM US WHEN THE INSURANCE ADJUSTER WILL BE COMING TO YOUR HOME AND WE WILL MEET WITH THE ADJUSTER TO REVIEW THE DAMAGE TO YOUR HOME

A LifeTime Builders representative and the insurance adjuster will inspect your property together.

We will advocate for your claim in hopes of getting all the damage covered. Your insurance adjuster will submit a summary report (scope of work) that will be forwarded to you.

Step 4:

FORWARD A COPY OF THE SUMMARY REPORT (SCOPE OF WORK) TO LIFETIME BUILDERS

Your insurance company will send you a summary report (scope of work) that describes the damage and itemizes costs.

LifeTime Builders will negotiate with your insurance company, on your behalf, regarding any price or quantity discrepancies; your insurance company will update the summary report as needed. Forward a copy of any revised summary reports to LifeTime Builders as they become available. Feel free to email them!

Step 5:

LIFETIME BUILDERS WILL MEET WITH YOU TO MAKE SELECTIONS OF COLOR, MATERIAL, ETC.

Together we will discuss a start date that best fits your schedule.

Once we receive the down payment, materials are delivered, and the project will begin shortly thereafter.

LifeTime Builders oversees the entire process. All our crews are registered and insured. The job site will be cleaned and inspected to ensure quality and satisfaction.

Step 6:

PAYMENT OF BALANCE

LifeTime Builders provides you and your insurance carrier a copy of your invoice (or notice of completion} when our work is complete.

Forward final payments that you receive from your insurance company to LifeTime Builders once the job is complete. You may need to have your Mortgage Company endorse your insurance check; this should be done without delay as sometimes mortgage companies take a while to clear the checks.

Your only out of pocket expense will be the deductible and/or any agreed upon upgrades.
